WHAT IS THE DRESSCODE PROJECT?

Dresscode Project is a global initiative that started in 2017 with the objective of creating Gender Affirming salons and barber shops for LGBTQ2S+ clients.

WHY WOULD MY MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION BE DENIED?

Applications can be denied for a few reasons.

As part of our Safer Space initiative, we require gender neutral washrooms to be available to clients. We've had people reach out and say "...but I don't have control of my washrooms. I lease in a building that shares". Our answer to that is... have you reached out and asked? We have had many salon owners simply ask their landlords to change the washrooms to gender neutral with much success.⁣⁣

If we are not able to verify your email address at time of application submission (contact happens via email), we will not be able to approve your application. Email is used as our primary source of contact with members and vital that you have a working email address.

If payment is denied at time of application submission, your application will not be processed.

CAN MY MEMBERSHIP BE REVOKED?

Yes. Memberships can be revoked and your membership fee will not be refunded.

WHY WOULD MY MEMBERSHIP BE REVOKED?

Signing up to be a part of the DCP Salon Alliance is an active, daily, conscious decision to stand up, support, educate and create safer salon spaces for all people - especially those within marginalized communities. Here are some examples of reasons a membership would be revoked:

  • Lying on your application

  • Using or distributing Dresscode Project proprietary information and education to people outside of your staff or passing it off as your own. This includes, but is not limited too:

    • Sharing member only coupon codes for classes and other services

    • Distributing member only workbooks and education to non-Alliance members (this would include other salons you own, but are not a part of the Salon Alliance)

    • Utilizing DCP education as your own

  • Not having a gender neutral pricing menu

  • Not creating gender affirming safer spaces for LGBTQ2S+ people and staff

HOW LONG DOSE SHIPPING TAKE?

Shipping to Canada and US can take 5-7 business days and international orders can take much longer.

IS DCP MEMBERSHIP SET UP TO AUTO-RENEW?

Yes, all DCP Memberships are set to auto-renew every year. You must email and notify us of your membership cancellation prior to your auto-renew date. All DCP Memberships are non-refundable.
