Kristin Rankin, Founder
Kristin Rankin has been the head stylist and owner of a boutique salon in the east end of Toronto for 13 years. They were one of the first salons in Toronto to offer haircuts priced by length not gender.
In addition to founding the Dresscode Project, Kristin is a committee member for the East Side Pride Festival, sits on the screening committee for the Inside Out Film Festival, is a board member of It Gets Better Canada and a panel member of Change the Narrative.
Kristin is working to eradicate homophobia, transphobia and discrimination according to race, sex and gender in salons worldwide.
Kristina Russell, Ambassador, Australia
Kristina is one of the most talented Haircolourists and inspirational hairdressers in the industry, and is the Australian Ambassador for the Dresscode Project. Her out of the box approach to Haircolour dazzles and delights, and her ability to communicate this in an educational platform is invaluable.
Hailing from Sydney, Australia, she works both in salon as well as keeping a busy schedule travelling Australia and the world, teaching classes of her own design.
Her mission as an Educator is to use her voice to make changes in the way we look at #genderfreehair and to understand the concept of consultations and hairdressing skills that are based on hair inspiration, as opposed to gender stereotypes.
Missy Clarkson, Ambassador, Vancouver
Missy is a stylist and salon owner committed to a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach to hair, fundraising, community and the arts. Active professionally in the hair industry since 2005, she continues to further her skill set with advanced education, and has been lucky enough to work with legends such as Kevin Murphy and his team in fashion weeks and education seminars around the world.
In 2018 Missy was thrilled to bring Vancouver’s first Gender Free Haircut Club to her salon, Studio 209, and since then has utilized her community of stylists to host further GFHC events. She is beyond honoured to be an ambassador for The Dresscode Project, and looks forward to building upon the excellent work of Kristin and their team.
